Mid Century Modern Desk Clock – Retro Table Clock – Vintage Inspired Mantel Clock – MCM Decor – Atomic Era Clock

I've always been drawn to the clean geometry of mid-century modern design. This mid century modern desk clock is my attempt to capture the look of those classic 1950s and 60s clocks — without the collector price tag that usually comes with them.

Designers like George Nelson and Dieter Rams created objects that were simple, balanced, and incredibly functional. Many of the clocks from that era feel less like appliances and more like small pieces of sculpture sitting on a desk or bookshelf.

This clock started as my interpretation of that design language.

The rectangular case, recessed dial, warm brown housing, and angled gold-tone legs all draw inspiration from the desk clocks and radios that were common throughout the mid-century period. I spent a lot of time refining the proportions so it would feel like something that could naturally sit among vintage pieces from that era.

Original clocks from the 1950s and 60s are beautiful, but they can also be expensive and often rely on aging mechanisms that require maintenance. My goal with this design was to create something that captures the same visual character while remaining accessible, reliable, and practical for everyday use.

So this clock combines that vintage aesthetic with a modern quartz movement, meaning it keeps accurate time and requires almost no maintenance.

Each clock is designed and assembled in my workshop and individually inspected before shipping.
