Seller's description
Specifications
These Florida agatized fossil coral specimens reveal the remarkable process where ancient coral skeletons were slowly replaced by silica-rich minerals, forming agate and chalcedony over millions of years.
Each piece in this collection shows a different stage of fossilization. You will see preserved coral structures, layered agate banding, translucent chalcedony, and in several pieces small druzy quartz cavities where crystals formed inside natural voids.
Some options are matched pairs split from the same coral specimen, displaying mirror-like mineral structures, while others are single specimens with unique geode-style interiors.
The outer white material preserves the original coral skeleton, while the interior reveals the mineral replacement that created the agate patterns.
Because every specimen forms differently in nature, no two pieces are alike. You will receive the exact numbered specimen shown in the photos.
Please note: natural crystals are not manufactured items and may include contact marks, growth interruptions, or minor edge variations created during formation or mining.
How to Choose Your Specimen
Each agatized coral specimen in this listing is completely unique. Use the numbered photos to select your favorite piece.
If you are unsure where to start:
• Love sparkle? Choose Set 6 or Set 11 for druzy quartz crystals.
• Prefer dramatic contrast? Choose Set 1, Set 7, or Set 10 with bold black chalcedony.
• Looking for interesting fossil structure? Choose Set 5 or Set 8 where coral patterns are especially visible.
• Want the largest pieces? Choose Set 1 or Set 2.
All photos show the exact specimen you will receive, and a ruler is included in the images for scale.

The largest pair in the collection, featuring layered shades of blue, white, and black chalcedony with subtle yellow tones. Strong contrast and flowing mineral patterns make this a bold display specimen.
⸻
Set 2 – Orange & Blue Pair
Size: 2.75” wide × 4.25” tall × 1.3” deep
Weight: 193 g
The heaviest set in the group, combining warm orange mineral tones with cool blue chalcedony. The color contrast highlights the natural agate replacement within the fossil coral structure.
⸻
Set 3 – Asymmetrical Coral Pair
Size: 3.25” wide × 3.75” tall × 2” deep
Weight: 157 g
Unlike most pairs, this specimen does not match perfectly, creating a more organic fossil presentation. Dark chalcedony bands flow through the coral structure, giving it a sculptural, natural feel.
⸻
Set 4 – Blue & Orange Contrast Pair
Size: 2” wide × 3” tall × 2” deep
Weight: 89 g
A vibrant piece with beautiful blue chalcedony contrasted by warm orange mineral staining. The interior patterns clearly show the mineral replacement that formed the agatized coral.
⸻
Set 5 – Yellow Edge Coral Pair
Size: 1.75” wide × 4.25” tall × 1.25” deep
Weight: 108 g
This tall specimen shows soft yellow mineral tones along the outer coral structure with layered chalcedony toward the interior. The vertical shape makes it an elegant display piece.
⸻
Set 6 – Druzy Crystal Pair
Size: 1.75” wide × 3.5” tall × 1.5” deep
Weight: 101 g
A standout set featuring a sparkling druzy quartz pocket inside the coral cavity. The crystal-lined interior contrasts beautifully with the smooth chalcedony surrounding it.
⸻
Set 7 – “Chess Knight” Pair
Size: 1.75” wide × 2.75” tall × 1.5” deep
Weight: 97 g
This sculptural pair resembles the shape of a chess knight when displayed upright. Dark chalcedony banding creates strong visual movement across the interior surfaces.
⸻
Set 8 – Black Druzy Cave in White Coral
Size: 1.5” wide × 3.25” tall × 1.5” deep
Weight: 90 g
A striking specimen with a dark druzy-lined cave set within bright white fossil coral. The contrast between the sparkling interior and pale coral matrix makes this piece especially eye-catching.
⸻
Set 9 – White Cave with Black Lining
Size: 1” wide × 3” tall × 1.25” deep
Weight: 51 g
A slender specimen featuring a white chalcedony cavity framed by a dramatic black agate border. The simple, clean banding highlights the mineral replacement process beautifully.
⸻
Set 10 – High Contrast Mini Pair
Size: 1.25” wide × 2.25” tall × 1” deep
Weight: 47 g
A smaller but high-contrast set with bold black chalcedony against pale coral matrix. Compact and dramatic, this piece shows striking agate banding in a miniature specimen.
⸻
Set 11 – Solo Druzy Specimen
Size: 2” wide × 2” tall × 1” deep
Weight: 50 g
A single agatized coral piece featuring a sparkling druzy quartz cavity surrounded by soft chalcedony. The open crystal pocket gives it the appearance of a tiny natural geode.
