⭐ ABOUT THE ITEM & ARTIST
This authentic vintage decorative plate was handcrafted in Kosiv, Ukraine. The back bears the hand-incised Cyrillic signature of Uliana Shkromyuk, an acclaimed master and member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. It is a genuine piece of studio art, not a mass-produced souvenir.

⭐ HISTORICAL CONTEXT
Kosiv ceramics date back to the 18th century in the Carpathian Mountains. In 2019, this unique pottery tradition was officially inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, celebrated for its preservation of Hutsul culture.

⭐ SYMBOLISM & DESIGN
Crafted using the ancient sgraffito technique, the design is carved directly into the white clay slip (engobe) before firing. The strict tricolor palette carries deep meaning: yellow for the sun, green for the Carpathian mountains, and brown for the earth. The charming "tears" (runs) of the green glaze are an authentic hallmark of the traditional lead-glaze firing process.
