Do you offer refunds under any circumstances?

Due to the nature of the items we offer in our shop, we are not able to offer refunds. If an item breaks in shipment, we have insured its value up to $100 and can help submit the claim to USPS online. (Note that when submitting an insurance claim, you MUST have photos of the item and the box/packaging, and you must retain the box/packaging to take to the post office if proof of damage is required.)

What if my item is returned to the sender/seller after it's shipped?

If a customer's order is returned to the sender/seller for any reason, the customer is responsible for paying for re-shipment.

Do you send photos before you ship items?

Due to the high volume of orders that we create and ship every day, we are unable to send photos or create mock-ups before production and shipment. We do sometimes share sneak peeks of customer items at instagram.com/housesparrownesting.

What if my package is delayed/lost in transit or stolen?

House Sparrow Fine Nesting is not liable for packages that are delayed in transit, lost by the shipping carrier, or stolen—all circumstances which are beyond our control. Once we hand your item over to the shipping carrier it is their responsibility to deliver the item. Please contact the shipping carrier directly regarding delays or lost packages. If you suspect mail theft you can obtain the GPS coordinates of the last scan point from the shipping carrier and file a mail theft report with your local police department.

What if I don't respond to your requests for photos for custom items?

If we do not get a response on our requests for the images we use to create custom orders, we will wait for a maximum of 2 weeks before we must cancel the order. We need to adhere to shop deadlines to remain in good standing on Etsy and can not hold orders beyond a certain date. If you order a custom item based on a photo with us, watch your Etsy messages!

My order did not reach me on time. Can I return it?

Sometimes there are delays in transit times across all of our shipping carriers, and these will increase in the holiday season. We cannot guarantee that a shipment will arrive by a specific date, even if the tracking provides an estimated delivery date. We have had cases where a shipment is significantly delayed and shows as unscanned even if it was shipped. Therefore, we cannot refund or cancel orders if they did not reach you on time but were shipped on time. If your order did not reach you on time, please contact us and the shipping carrier.

Do you offer rush production?

We process all orders according to the timelines stipulated in each listing. If you need your order sooner, and if we can accommodate rush orders on a particular item, you can choose Rush Production in the dropdown menu of the listing for your desired item.

What are your holiday order deadlines for Christmas 2026 delivery?

For delivery by December 25 within the contiguous U.S. using our free standard shipping option, please order by the following cut-offs: Made-to-Order Items: Wednesday, December 9 Ready-to-Ship Items: Saturday, December 12 Upgraded shipping methods (USPS Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express) are available during checkout if you are ordering closer to the holiday. While we package and dispatch all orders on or ahead of schedule, carrier delivery timelines cannot be 100% guaranteed once packages are in transit with the postal service.

This is my second project. Seller puts so much care and detail into the patterns, and great with communication on the progress of getting it made and shipped. I am almost done with this one but thought I’d share a progress pic. For reference, I used two strands for the outline and one strand for the details.

It was much easier than I thought, I actually did it twice and use a seam ripper to undo my stitches. I found that using a single string for the fine hair and double string for the eyes looked better than using three strings for the entire face. Seller is so thoughtful and kept me in the loop with the production and shipping of the kit. I loved it so much I already ordered my second project!
