This WWII Type 98 Shin-Gunto NCO sword replica features a full tang blade forged from 1095 carbon steel and finished to a chrome polish. Hardened to 60 HRC, the steel delivers strong edge retention and durability. The blade profile follows the traditional curvature found in wartime-issued gunto, making this an accurate tribute to the swords carried by Japanese non-commissioned officers during the Second World War.

wrapping, the handle core seats the full tang securely. Real copper fittings - including the fuchi, kashira, and habaki - give the grip section a warm, aged bronze tone that pairs naturally with the military styling of this piece.

The copper tsuba features a simple military-regulation profile consistent with mass-produced NCO gunto of the era. Its understated form provides visual balance between the polished blade and the olive-toned saya without unnecessary ornamentation. A stamped brass collar at the base of the tsuba adds another layer of period-accurate detail to this Old Katana replica.

The saya is constructed from iron and finished in olive lacquer, closely matching the field-green color used on original WWII military scabbards. A brass suspension ring is mounted near the mouth of the saya, replicating the attachment point used for belt carry. The saya measures 13 inches and protects the blade securely when sheathed.

Every component is individually handcrafted, making it a meaningful addition to any WWII memorabilia collection or a standout piece among Real Samurai Sword displays.

Iron saya finished in olive lacquer with a brass hanging ring, replicating the distinctive field-grade scabbard of WWII Japanese NCO swords.

I received the item and was shocked! Nothing matches the description. The total length of the katana is 30 cm longer. The weight is much heavier. Overall, all the parameters are different. The katana is not handmade; it's a piece of steel, not even spring steel. It's machine-processed. It's made not for quality, but for quantity. The only advantage is that the product is similar to the one offered. Overall, it's a complete failure. I asked for an inscription on the sword, as the seller assured me. Unfortunately, forget about it. The product's advertisement is attractive and enticing, but in reality, it's a disaster. I do not recommend buying this product or anything else from this store.
