This short medieval men’s tunic in black wool with a white lining and wide sleeves, in houppelande style, is based on documented garments from late medieval clothing. The houppelande, also known as houpelande or hoppa, is defined by its volume, its length and its wide sleeves, elements that create a highly recognisable silhouette in visual sources from the period. This type of garment was worn as an outer layer over other clothing.

It is made using historically appropriate materials. The exterior is crafted from high quality black wool cloth, while the interior is lined with high quality linen, creating a contrasting visual effect.

All finishes are carefully executed to meet the highest standards of historical reenactment, avoiding any visible machine stitching on the exterior.

This garment is particularly suitable for late 14th and early 15th century historical reenactment, noble medieval clothing, civilian reenactment, historically based LARP and theatre or audiovisual productions.

It is made to measure and to order, adapting to each individual’s proportions. After purchase, the necessary measurements will be requested to ensure a proper fit.

This model is a short version. Its length is approximately 75 cm. It can be worn at mid-leg length or made longer, up to the knee, by specifying the desired length. It can also be made in other colours or with small modifications if desired.

The belt shown in the photographs is not included.
