Antique Millersburg Little Stars Green Carnival Glass 7 1/2” Ruffled Bowl

Bring this beautiful Little Stars 7 1/2” Ruffled Edge Bowl to your home. Most commonly made in amethyst, this green satin bowl is much more rare. The exterior has the wide panel pattern. The Little Stars pattern was made by the prominent Millersburg Glass Company founded by John Fenton (Frank Fenton’s brother) between 1909 - 1911. The Millersburg Glass Co is famous for its high quality, radium (highly iridescent) glass. This star-filled bowl shines with colors of gold, pink, blue, lavender, green and touches of yellow.

It’s in outstanding antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. You’ll see straw marks on the exterior - they are NOT cracks, but are common manufacturing characteristics of carnival glass.

I won this glass against other serious collectors from Seeck Auctions in Iowa, one of the premiere Carnival Glass auction houses in the US.

All carnival glass is iridescent, which means it has an oil on water “soap bubble” effect which is caused by the original colored glass being sprayed with metallic salts while the glass is still very hot. The iridescence is usually, but not always, concentrated on the inside of the bowl. I only used natural light to photograph and video.
