A very antique Meissen porcelain floral bough potpourri pot ,cachepot and cover circa 1775, of very manageable proportions only 10.5cm high

Exhibiting that marvelous flared square shape that I adore with pieced arched removable cover of five large and four small holes embellished with twin painted handles depicting branches and subtle floral decorations that are utterly enchanting

Embellished on all four sides with a lovely loose hand painted floral bouquets in rich pastel and vivid colours that are so easy on the eye set on a white background

The upper rim framed and moulded with gilt scrolls and shells and underneath the blue crosses swords and star “Marcoloni Mark “that wonderful trademark named after Count Camillo Marcoloni who was the director of the factory at the time

All above resting on found gilt decorated scroll legs completing a enchanting compostion in porcelain

10.5cm tall ,base 7.5cm x7.5cm top 11.5cm long curved end handle to handle

There is nothing prettier than these old porcelain Meissen garniture bough pots with that wonderful combination of gilt and floral design and of manageable proportions which always look so smart

And the best bit is they look lovely with nothing on them

Their timeless and classical appeal never go out of fashion and they add that extra bit of elegance to any room setting

The pot is in good condition with wear commensurate with age,It is an old piece of porcelains and was and still is a much used object so it wil not be perfect

There are the odd minor marks and mild scratches and one handle has been restored and there are twin small chops to the upper rim either side which are hardly noticeable sand can be expected in a piece of this age but the floral and gilt decorations are still vivid and clear and colouring is divine

A lovely bough pot and if one is a lover and collector of Meissen even better ,for a drawing room or library table or dining room sideboard filled with flowers or potpourri , or on a bookcase dressing, room table ,I also love them displayed in a downstairs powder room filled with potpourri to bring that historic and classical English style into One’s decor
