Custom and personalized orders

I love doing custom orders and look forward to working with you to bring your dreams to life. Previous custom orders have included: sweaters for babies, teddy bears, and pets, custom logos instead of letters, and color-matching a tartan for custom scarves. Please be aware that all personalized orders require additional time, especially in the case of color matching, and custom sizing. I will gladly provide update photos at every stage of development upon request.

What is the difference between the yarns you use for sweaters? Which do you recommend?

The difference between the yarns is the care instructions and the warmth. - 100% Wool is a lighter weight sweater, and is hand wash only, lay flat to dry. It is the warmest of the options. I recommend wearing a tee underneath so you only wash if it gets a stain or picks up an odor. - 75% Acrylic 25% Wool is machine wash cold, tumble dry low or lay flat to dry. Do not wash on high heat, or it will shrink. This sweater thicker than the other two, and keeps heat in, but doesn't let heat out like wool does. - 100% Acrylic is machine wash and tumble dry, but comes in a limited number of colors and has a shine to it. Its comfortable to wear, but does not photograph well. I always recommend 100% wool as it photographs well and lasts forever.

This is a handknit sweater customized from the original vintage pattern to fit YOU!
Whether you are stuck in the cold depths of space, braving another cold winter, or cosplaying for the latest convention, I can knit whatever you need!

The movie sweater was handknit from the same vintage pattern I own, and I have the knowledge and skills from 25 years of knitting to make this the sweater of your dreams. Clothing should be made to fit YOUR body! If you need extra room in the belly, or the shoulders, or if you need the torso short but the sleeves extra long, I can make it happen.

This sweater is made from 100% wool in either hand-wash-only colors A-G, or machine washable colors L- N. Non-wool options are available upon request.

Please read through all of the photos, as multiple color options, pocket options, and closure options are available.

SIZE is based on the widest part of your torso, measured in inches. If the widest part of your torso is your chest, and it measures 38 inches, a 38-inch sweater is going to be skin tight. A 38 inch chest should order a 42 for a modern comfortable fit, or a 46 for an oversized fit.

All sweaters come with a 3-inch ribbed hem at the bottom and a garter-stitch shawl collar unless otherwise discussed.

Due to the custom nature of these sweaters, they are MADE TO ORDER and take multiple weeks to knit by hand.

The knitting world was unprepared for how popular this Hail Mary sweater would be, and multiple yarn manufacturers have increased shipping times, which has increased my production time. I ordered in April and the seller was initially communicative, but after June dropped off entirely. I was told this was due to a large influx of orders, but months went by + I reached out several times for follow-up with no response. In August I was told there were 11 orders ahead of me which was strange since in June I was told my sweater was 1/3 done. This month they updated ONLY THE LISTING to announce a family emergency so they’d cancel all pending orders. I only knew this because I went on the item page; they never reached out to me directly and I saw no news of a refund. Because they never updated my ship-by date I would’ve been without my money and no sweater if Etsy support hadn’t stepped in. Handicrafts take time but stringing me along like this for months with 0 communication felt insulting and scammy.
