Why I Love This Hoya (Collector's Note)

The Hoya 'Mathilde' Inner Variegated is the ultimate "cute" Hoya. While the standard Mathilde is loved for its splashy round leaves, the Inner Variegated version is quite different. Obviously the color of the leaves, but it's also got shorter internodes, a pink stem, new leaves that start off pink, and it grows a bit slower. Not too slow though. In my experience, once it's got 10+ leaves it really picks up speed. It features those iconic, tiny coin-shaped leaves but with a stunning creamy-yellow center that varies from leaf to leaf. Every new leaf is like a little piece of art. It stays compact and tidy, making it perfect for small spaces or a curated shelf. And it's a carnosa x serpens cross, so when it blooms you get those tight little clusters of fuzzy flowers with real fragrance.

What You Will Receive

* The Plant: You'll get the actual plant you select, well established in a 2.5-inch nursery pot. These are listed individually so you can pick out the exact plant you want. If you want to see more pictures of a specific one, feel free to DM me!
* The Medium: These are currently established in premium tree fern fiber, which provides the perfect balance of aeration and moisture retention.
* Growth: These are established plants that started off as single node cuttings and now have significant growth and a real root system.
* Variation: Because this is a variegated variety, every plant is unique. The amount and placement of the creamy-yellow center shifts leaf to leaf, and yours will develop its own pattern as it matures.

You can get this plant as a fresh cutting cheaper than what I'm selling them for. It takes time and love to get these to a good root system and healthy growth, ready for their new home.

Pro Care Tips

* Light: Bright, indirect light is essential. To get those beautiful pink sun-stressed tones and keep the variegation crisp, give it as much light as possible without direct midday sun.
* Water: While not as thirsty as the Polyneura, the Mathilde (being part Serpens) does not like to stay bone dry for long. Water when the top inch of the medium feels dry. Keep in mind that tree fern fiber dries faster than a peat-based mix, so check it more often than you would a standard nursery plant, especially for the first few weeks.
* Humidity: Thrives in average to high humidity. Higher humidity gives you faster growth and better leaf size.
* Repotting: Wait 2-3 weeks before repotting, until the plant starts putting out significant new growth. This gives it time to acclimate to your home environment first.
* Blooming: Leave the peduncles (the little woody spurs the flowers come from) alone after blooming. They rebloom from the same spot season after season.
* Style: This is a classic trailer. It looks incredible cascading over the side of a decorative pot or small hanging basket.

Shipping Schedule: We ship Saturday, Monday, and Tuesday, timed so your plant arrives during the week and never sits in a carrier warehouse over a weekend.

Temperature Protection (REQUIRED): Our Live Arrival Guarantee applies only when the Double Insulation add-on is purchased with your order. This applies year-round, in summer heat and in winter cold. Without Double Insulation there is no Live Arrival Guarantee.

Heat Pack (REQUIRED in cold): If temperatures anywhere along the route are forecast at 40°F or below, a heat pack must also be added. Without it there is no Live Arrival Guarantee in those conditions.

Carrier Delays: We monitor weather nationwide. If a major storm is expected, we may hold your shipment a few days to keep the plant safe.

Claims: You must contact us within 24 hours of delivery with any issues. Clear photos or video of the damaged plant are required for any claim to be considered. Claims made after 24 hours, or without photos or video, cannot be honored.

Post-Arrival Care

Water your plant as soon as it arrives.

Place it in a moderately lit area.

Do not repot for 2-3 weeks. Wait until the plant starts putting out significant new growth.
