Nice antiquarian book "With Custer In The Black Hills or A Young Scout Among The Indians" by Captain Ralph Bonehill, copyright 1902 by The Mershon Company. It is part of the Flag of Freedom Series. This book is about the trials and difficulties of the trappers, hunters, and pioneers who helped settle the Northwest. This thrilling adventure story tells the tale of a group of soldiers and pioneers who set out to explore the Black Hills of South Dakota in search of gold and adventure. Along the way, they encounter hostile Native American tribes, dangerous wildlife, and treacherous terrain, but are determined to reach their goal.
This first edition book is in good condition with 244 pages with none missing and no cutouts. One of the illustrations is loose as shown (see 8th photo). Though the hardcover is attached, it is coming loose from the book (see 3rd & 8th photos). Cloth cover has some fading and discoloration. Printing on spine is very worn and hardly readable. The interior is clean for the most part. There is a name along with Christmas 1903 written in ink on the first page (see 3rd photo). Measures 7.5" tall by 5" wide by 1.25" thick.
