This Rhodochrosite is from the Potosí Mine in Chihuahua Mexico. It is a rare manganese carbonate mineral. Rhodochrosite in Potosí commonly forms in late hydrothermal, manganese-rich horizons or as replacement/overgrowths on manganese oxides (The Black Matrix material) This huge specimen is beautiful, with many bright pink colors. It is about 99.9% solid Rhodochrosite. There are multiple pockets of druzy quartz all around this piece, that are amazing. The luster on this specimen is fantastic. It sits sits beautifully and displays very well. I only window polished one facet, so you can enjoy how all of the other facets sparkle even unpolished.
