What’s Included in the Kit:
Each kit comes with:
Smokeless Fire Ring: Fully welded with a 3-inch lip, 16 inches tall, and precision-drilled holes for smokeless efficiency.
Solid Steel Lid*: Protects your fire pit when not in use (paint optional).
Pine Tree Vent Blocks: Ensure proper airflow for a smokeless burn.
*Please note that the lid ships separately from the ring and vent blocks, which ship together. Depending on that week's production schedule, the lid can ship first or second.

Kit Sizes and recommended seating:
24-inch Diameter Kit: seats up to 4 people; finished diameter is 40 inches.
30-inch Diameter Kit: seats up to 6 people; finished diameter is 46 inches.
36-inch Diameter Kit: seats up to 8+ people; finished diameter is 54 inches.

Painting/Rusting:
Each kit arrives in raw steel, which will rust or develop a natural patina over time unless painted. If you like the rusted look but want your kit to last 120+ years, Corten or weathering steel would be ideal. When rusted, Corten steel forms a protective layer that prevents further corrosion.
If you plan to paint the pieces, choose carbon (or standard) steel. We have a video that will give you all the tips and tricks you need if you like to paint them before use.

What You’ll Need (Not Included):
Retaining wall blocks (available at Lowe’s, Home Depot, or garden centers).
Blocks should be 11.5" W x 4" H x 7" D and can cost about $2 to $3 each. Blocks may vary from state to state and store to store. I have based everything on retaining wall block blocks from Lowe's and Home Depot.
Pro Tip: Simply tap off the back lip with a hammer to ensure a flat fit.

All the tools needed are: Phillips screwdriver, hammer, crescent wrench (or 7/16 wrench).

*If you want to paint, do so before putting anything together or outside, as it will rust quickly. The link to the painting video is above.
1. Gather retaining wall blocks and remove the back lip.
Safety Tips: Please use personal protective gear, such as gloves and eye protection, when breaking block lips.
2. Assemble the smokeless fire ring with two 7/16 wrenches.

3. Using the fire ring as a template, place blocks and vent blocks (spaced as evenly as possible) on the first row of the hardscape ring. For optimal airflow, the retaining wall blocks and vents should be 1/2" to 1" away from the metal insert.
4. Stack additional rows of blocks for a total of four rows.
5. Insert the metal smokeless fire ring insert and ensure it sits flush on the ground and the lip is flush with the top blocks.
An option is to add a cap to your hardscape ring, but it is not required.
6. Add some chairs, start a fire, and enjoy a smokeless fire ring with friends and family!

Canceling
Cancellation requests must be submitted within 24 hours of the order placement to qualify for a full refund. This policy is in place to mitigate the impact on production schedules and resource allocation. Cancellations made beyond the 24-hour window will be subject to review, and refunds will be issued at our discretion, dependent upon the item’s production stage and incurred costs.

Returns
No returns are allowed on used, rusted, or painted items or customized items approved by the buyer. We will not refund any returned item until we receive it and ensure it is in its original, unused condition. The buyer must pay for the return shipping and any additional packing material and/or boxes needed to ship the item(s) back.

Refunds
Refunds will be made to the original payment through Etsy. Depending on the banking institution, this can take 7-10 days. The amount refunded will be determined based on the condition of the item returned. At a minimum, Bonfire by Design’s original shipping cost will be deducted from the refund based on the buyer’s shipping location.

** Please note that due to the unique nature of custom fire rings, refunds on custom order(s) will be determined depending on the depth and detail of the customization. There will be no refund if the error has been made by the buyer when it comes to design or spelling errors. Once a fire ring has been cut, there is no refund.**
