This hand painted Persian miniature depicts a hunting scene with two men on horseback and looks like it may be signed by the artist.
The separate border is also hand painted in a beautiful pattern.
The wooden frame is amazing, using the Khatam Kari hand laid marquetry method!
Khatam Kari is a traditional Persian art form inlaying small pieces of wood, bone, and metal into intricate geometric patterns on objects.
This involves cutting materials into small, precise shapes and arranging them into intricate patterns. These pieces are glued together, pressed, and polished to create a smooth, decorative surface.
It's history dates back over a thousand years, with significant developments during the Safavid period and remains a celebrated art form in Persia today.
The small hunting scene painting is 4" tall by 2 1/4" wide. The border painting is 6 1/4" by 4 1/4"
This desk top frame measures 10 1/4" tall by 8 1/4" wide and 1" thick. It could also be fitted with a wire to hang on a wall.
To maintain the beauty of your art work, keep it away from direct sunlight, moisture, and extreme temperatures. Clean it gently with a soft cloth to preserve its finish.
Apple and ruler are for scale only and not included.
