MAP BUTTERFLY — “THE LOVERS”

A real preserved Map Butterfly (Cyrestis thyodamas) is presented in “The Lovers,” a one-of-one framed specimen artwork pairing the butterfly’s intricate map-like wing pattern with an artist-created composition inspired by connection and partnership.

The preserved specimen remains the center of the work. Its fine black-and-white patterning creates a naturally graphic focal point, while the romantic Tarot composition adds symbolism and atmosphere without obscuring the remarkable detail of the butterfly itself.

THE SPECIMEN

Cyrestis thyodamas is especially distinctive in framed entomology because of the complex lines and markings across its wings, which resemble a delicate engraved map. The balanced shape and patterned surface reward close inspection and give the specimen an elegant natural-history character.

Natural variations in wing texture, markings, tone, and condition are intrinsic to the genuine preserved butterfly and contribute to the individuality of the artwork.

THE ARTWORK

“The Lovers” is offered as a single physical specimen composition. The preserved Cyrestis thyodamas butterfly, black-and-white presentation, framing, and artist-created Tarot artwork together form the finished piece.

Optional decorative frame-corner choices are available through the variation menu, with prices displayed for each selection.

Ideal for butterfly collectors, romantic interiors, monochrome gallery walls, Tarot-inspired decor, and natural-history collections.

DISPLAY & CARE

Display indoors away from prolonged direct sunlight, excessive heat, moisture, and high humidity. Keep the preserved butterfly protected within its frame and handle the artwork with care.

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE

One physical framed “The Lovers” artwork featuring the real preserved Cyrestis thyodamas butterfly shown, with the frame-corner option selected at purchase. This is original specimen-based wall art, not a digital print or mass-produced reproduction.
