These are the real thing — a signed pair of vintage earrings from Betsy Fuller, made of real turbo shells and sterling silver. Fuller's jewelry designs are rooted in free forms and organic patterns inspired by materials she found close to the beaches, and these turbo shell earrings are a perfect embodiment of that philosophy.
Each earring features a whole, polished turbo shell with a pearlescent, iridescent finish — creamy white with flashes of champagne, gold, and soft green depending on the light. The shells are cradled in hand-fitted sterling silver bezels and clip-on backs. They are in beautiful condition and can easily be converted to pierced/post backs by a jeweler if preferred.
Signed originals like these were created in the 1980s and are widely considered heirlooms — unique and special, and much imitated but never duplicated.
