Vintage from the 1990s

Exceptional, rare matching set of four (4) miniature landscape oil paintings depicting Northwestern Russian Orthodox churches. Painted in 1990 by artist Leonid Dobriakov, these pieces were likely created for and displayed at the historic Arbat street art market in downtown Moscow.

The set features a beautifully balanced composition of two horizontal and two vertical pieces. The impressionistic artwork utilizes a striking palette of warm orange, yellow, and sepia tones to capture serene sunrise or sunset scenes. The imagery includes traditional wooden churches with prominent domes and crosses, nestled deep within northern forests, alongside peaceful riverbanks, winter landscapes, and a lone boat.

CONDITION REPORT

* Artwork: Excellent vintage condition. The oil paint is vibrant and stable with no fine cracking (craquelure), flaking, blanching, blistering, or UV damage. No signs of restoration or repair.

* Frames: Structural integrity is completely intact. Sturdy wooden construction with no cracks, dents, splits, or repairs.

* Signatures: Three of the four pieces feature the clear, handwritten artist signature and date on the backing board. One piece is unsigned on the reverse but is an identical, verified match to the rest of the set.
