I use a digital camera with a dedicated macro mode. This enables me to show details of each mineral so that you can get a good look from different angles before you purchase. Most of my photos are taken with a simple clean background using 5500k lighting. Keep in mind there might be some minor color shifts due to calibration of your monitor or screen.

It will usually take me 1-2 days to prepare your order for shipping. I will happily combine shipping for multiple items whenever possible and reimburse for differences over $1. Please note, when buying multiple items, Etsy sometimes overestimates the shipping cost. As mentioned, I will refund this money. If you think the calculated shipping is too high, please contact me. Items 15 oz or lighter I ship using First Class mail. Anything over 1 lb ships Priority mail or in flat rate boxes if that brings down the shipping cost.

A Note on Fluorescent Minerals

In order to view fluorescent minerals a special ultraviolet light (UV) is required. (I use a portable UV Way Too Cool Light.) I usually try to specify whether the mineral will need shortwave or long wave UV light to see the fluorescent effect. You can purchase inexpensive UV lights but often these don't have a filter so you aren't getting a true read. If you have any questions about this or need buying advice on a dedicated UV light, please contact me.

I try to provide the locality where each mineral is from, if I have that info. In general, it is a good idea to pay attention to mineral locations because it often contributes to the price, rarity and availability of that particular stone. For example, zeolites from India are abundant and will generally fetch lower prices than zeolites coming from a famous but closed quarry in New Jersey. Keeping tack of locations is also a way to add value to your collection.

Measurements of minerals

The dimensions of listed stones are approximate. I do my best and use a digital caliper but measurements can still vary. I usually measure the longest side of the specimen. But some parts may measure slightly more or less than the listed dimensions. I usually include a photo with my hand to provide a sense of scale.
