Highlights
Delicate and romantic, this beautiful antique hand fan dates to the late Victorian or early Edwardian era, circa 1895–1910. The fan features hand-painted cherubs (cupids) floating among soft pastel accents on a sheer gauze leaf, finished with an elegant lace border.
The guards are decorated with raised gilt scrollwork and hand-painted floral embellishments, adding to the fan’s refined appearance. The sticks appear to be celluloid, a popular luxury material used in the late 19th and early 20th centuries as an ivory substitute.
A lovely display piece for a dressing table, boudoir, Victorian collection, wedding décor, theater costume, or fan collection.
