These are Krobo Beads — hand-painted recycled glass beads made by the Krobo people of Ghana, estimated 30–50 years old. Every pattern on every bead was painted by hand: dots for abundance, waves for ceremony, eyes for protection. No two beads are the same. No two bracelets will ever be the same.
We spent years searching through traders' collections across West Africa and Southeast Asia to find beads with this kind of presence. When we finally brought these together — the reds that shout, the blues that deepen, the whites that cut through everything — we stopped designing and started listening.
Each bracelet is assembled by hand, one bead at a time, with small brass spacers and a brass bell charm that chimes softly as you move.
This is wearable history. A collector's piece. One of a kind.
