Improve the appearance and screen-accuracy of your Hasbro 1984 Proton Pack with this kit. Allows for a reversible upgrade of the cyclotron bumper bolts to more screen accurate 1/4” hex head socket cap bolts. The kit features 4 bolts, your choice of stainless steel or brass washers for the GB1/GB2 look, and new bumper side brackets. The side brackets allow for the new wider bolts so you don’t have to attempt to drill out the originals, which are barely wide enough to hold the 1/4” bolts. You will have to enlarge the holes on the bumper to 1/4” with a drill, but the original screws will cover that should you want to revert.
Installation:
Remove bumper from pack. Remove all 4 Phillips head stock screws. Remove side brackets. Enlarge screw holes with 1/4” drill bit. Insert new side brackets and secure with new 1/4” bolts and washers using a 3/16” (4.5mm) hex wrench. Replace bumper on pack.
Brackets are printed in PETG material for strength and UV resistance, and printed in a orientation to provide the strongest functionality.
