Shadow (cast #164) was cast using molten aluminum on April 21, 2026, from a colony of red invasive fire ants and finished June 20, 2026. the name was inspired due to the aluminum that flow from the base during pouring, which appears like a shadow. It’s name is also inspired by a quote from Jay Kristoff, an Australian-born author of fantasy and science fiction. “The brighter the light, the deeper the shadow.” Shadow’s round wood base measures 9” in diameter. The cast is approximately 8.5” wide. The cast and base weigh 1.23 pounds and stand 4.75” tall.
