A shared budget can get confusing when one partner pays a bill, the other pays for groceries and you split some costs differently. This interactive planner helps two partners record their income, shared expenses and personal spending, then see each person’s share and what remains to settle. It is a downloadable HTML application that runs locally, with a visual dashboard and built-in calculations rather than spreadsheet formulas. No account or subscription is required.

Use it for a monthly household budget, whether you split shared costs 50/50, in proportion to your incomes or by custom percentages. Record who actually paid in the payment log; the Settle Up view compares those payments with the expected contributions. You can also track individual spending, savings goals and contributions, debts and recurring bills in the same planner.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

Etsy delivers one ZIP download, Couples_Shared_Budget_Planner_V2_12.zip. The attached archive contains the HTML application, a PDF user guide and a README text file. This is a digital product; nothing physical is shipped. Unzip the download and read the included guidance before opening the HTML app.

HOW IT WORKS

Enter both partners’ names, choose a currency and expense-split method, add incomes and start recording your budget. You can explore with sample data before entering your own figures. The app works locally/offline and stores the information you enter in the browser’s local storage where supported. It does not connect to your bank, require a cloud account or automatically synchronise between partners’ devices. If each partner opens a separate copy on a separate device, those copies will not stay in sync. Use the built-in backup and restore tools to keep a separate copy of your data, particularly before changing browsers or devices or clearing browser data.

DEVICE COMPATIBILITY

A desktop or laptop in a modern browser provides the most reliable experience. The interface is designed to adapt to smaller screens, but tablet and phone use depends on how the device handles downloaded local HTML files, JavaScript and storage. On iPhone or iPad, you may need a compatible HTML viewer; the standard Files preview may not run the app interactively. Downloads, importing backups and local storage can vary on iOS, so full functionality on every mobile device cannot be guaranteed. If iPhone or iPad will be your main device, please consider these limits before buying and consult the included guide.

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS

This is a local budgeting and record-keeping tool, not a bank-connected finance service or a cloud collaboration system. It does not automatically import bank transactions, process payments or synchronise live data across devices. Browser storage can be cleared or behave differently across browsers and devices; make regular backups and keep them somewhere safe. The app is an HTML download, not an Excel or Google Sheets file, a PDF planner, a Notion template or a native phone app. The PDF in the ZIP is the user guide, not the interactive planner.
