The item is not as designed which means that you can’t balance a pen across as shown in the pictures. I found a creative way around it: however, does not work as intended and not the best quality when you look at it up close. I would not recommend this purchase if you wish to use it as advertised. That being said, if your looking for a small whimsical piece to display, it will do the job.

A cheap-feeling imitation of the photo: this octopus phone/pen holder is impractical as delivered; the proportions are narrow so a phone does not sit well in it, the joins in the tentacles are sloppy, the product I received was choppy and angular where it should be smooth, the texture on the whole is missing, and if this thing is actually supposed to hold a pen, I'd be shocked. None of the tentacles are aligned in such a way that would be conducive for holding any pens. Did I bother contacting customer service? No, because a refund and a replacement would mask the crappy quality for someone else to get misled by. Vendors like these should suffer reputational impact for not managing quality of their wares. Shipping was fine, though.
