A fictional rock plant of the Cameroon highlands, hardly wider than a coin. In drought the Sacrificial Rockmoss (Petrobryum sacrificans) cast off its outer leaves to keep the core alive — rocks silvered with its husks were known to endure.

Preserved as Plate XXXVII in the Archive of Vanished Flora — a high-resolution printable herbarium plate for curiosity cabinets and collectors of oddities.
