I stitched out #2 design. For the most part it stitched out ok. The butterflies are so heavily stitched that I have a hard dent (for lack of a better term) on the top and a big knot on the back side of my project where both butterflies stitched out. Kind of a bummer as I saw a lot of cute designs I had my eye on.

it sounds like you have birds nest where the thread stitches into a knot like a birds nest, sold hundreds of these, never had a complaint
