Sandra is the talented owner of a rare old violin which she inherited from her grandfather. It is a most unusual instrument with an exquisitely carved Muse's head instead of a scroll, and a small diamond set in each of the ebony pegs. When Sandra leaves her home in a small community on the Caroline coast to try out for the Girl Orchestra in New York, she doesn't realize that her violin will become the cause of envy, intrigue and attempts at theft. The mystery surrounding the violin deepens further when she meets the father of Philip, a gifted young pianist. His interest and questions cause her to wonder about the original owner of her violin. Sandra's trials in becoming a star with the famous orchestra and her efforts to learn the history of her instrument make a story full of action and thrills.


There is some writing on the very first page.
The 5th photo shows how the paper that is glued to the inside of the front cover is starting to separate. It is also like this with the paper that is glued to the inside of the back cover.
The 10th photo shows page 181/182 is not attached to the other pages anymore.
The book is also starting to separate in that same area.
Pages are still intact.
Covers and edges show signs of wear.
The dust jacket has saw better days. it is in the process of falling apart. Lots of missing pieces, tears, and creases.
