“The Gentleman Who Never Missed an Encore.”

Among the grand estates and elegant halls of the Society of Refined Beasts, none possess a greater appreciation for beauty than Lord Sebastian Longstride. Standing taller than every other noble in the kingdom, Sebastian has spent a lifetime proving that true refinement lies not in being noticed, but in noticing the remarkable things others often overlook.

As Royal Patron of the Grand Theatre, Lord Longstride has devoted his fortune to preserving music, literature, sculpture, and the performing arts. It was through his generosity that countless young musicians, painters, and playwrights found the opportunity to share their talents with the world.

His treasured opera binoculars have accompanied him to every opening night for over three decades. Friends often joke that he can spot a nervous violinist from the highest balcony before the conductor even raises the baton. Yet he never uses them to criticize. Instead, he delights in recognising dedication, applauding every performer who pours their heart into their craft.

Lady Penelope Featherstone, the kingdom’s celebrated authority on fashion and elegance, frequently joins Lord Longstride at the Royal Opera House, where the pair debate costume design long after the curtain has fallen. Professor Archibald Foxworth has often remarked that without Sebastian’s patronage, many of the kingdom’s greatest masterpieces would never have existed.

Although blessed with wealth and prestige, Lord Longstride remains remarkably humble. He believes that civilisation is measured not by its castles or riches, but by the music it composes, the stories it tells, and the artists it inspires.

To this day, no performance begins until Lord Sebastian quietly raises his opera binoculars, settles comfortably into his favourite seat, and smiles with childlike anticipation.
