Registry ZL-2026-0003 · the only one

Fluff piled into loops, a soft halo settled over a warm wool core.

WHAT IT IS

This hand-crochet scarf is built from a fluffy polyamide yarn worked over Peruvian wool with a touch of alpaca. The cloud-like halo sits on top of real warmth, rather than standing in for it. It crochets up long and drapey: 25 cm wide and 190 cm end to end, without the fringe. That is enough to wrap twice around the neck and still hang loose past the waist. It is a statement scarf built for texture first, closer to a piece of wearable fibre art than a plain winter wrap.

WHAT GOES INTO IT

Eleven to fourteen hours with a crochet hook, loop by loop, and almost none of that is the yarn.
Each loop has to hold its loft across the full 190 cm, or the halo goes thin toward the end.
Sixty percent polyamide, thirty percent Peruvian wool, ten percent alpaca - the fluff sits over the wool, not instead of it.
One scarf, one dye lot - there is no second run to spread those hours across.

HOW IT FEELS

The polyamide is what gives it that brushed, cloud-like halo - light against the skin, not dense or heavy.
The Peruvian wool underneath is doing the actual warming; the fluff on top is texture, not insulation.
It sits smooth against the neck rather than scratchy, with the alpaca along for a touch of body more than warmth.
Shake it out after wearing and the loft settles back into place.

MATERIALS

- 60% polyamide
- 30% Peruvian wool
- 10% alpaca

I print the full split, synthetic majority included, because you should know exactly what is against your skin, not only the parts that sound nicest.

SIZE

- Width: 25 cm (10 in)
- Length: 190 cm (75 in, without fringe)

ONE PIECE ONLY

There is one of this, and when it goes the listing goes with it.
I do not restock and I do not repeat a colourway - partly by choice, partly because the yarn came from one dye lot and that lot is finished.
If you want something close, message me and we can talk about a commission. It will not be this one.

CARE

Hand wash only, lukewarm, pH-neutral wool detergent.
Squeeze gently, like kneading dough. Do not wring, twist or pull.
Dry flat on a towel, away from sun and radiators.
Brushed yarn sheds a little for the first week or two. That is the halo settling, not a fault. Shake it out and it stops.
If small bobbles appear where it rubs, lift them with a knitwear comb - never a razor.
Store folded and clean. Moths go for skin oils, not for the fibre, so put it away washed. Cedar in the drawer, not mothballs.

ORDER INFO

MADE TO ORDER? No. This one exists. It is finished, photographed and in my hands. It ships as it is.

PROCESSING
I pack and post within 1-2 business days, Monday to Friday.

SHIPPING FROM POLAND
Sent from Wroclaw, tracked, every parcel. Inside the EU there are no customs charges and nothing is collected at the door.

RETURNS
30 days from delivery. Not the 14 the law asks of me - 30.
Send it back unworn and I refund the item in full. Return postage is yours unless it arrived damaged or not as described, in which case it is mine.
Hand-made does not mean final sale. I would rather it came back than sat in a drawer.

QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BUY
Message me. If you want a photo of it next to a tape measure, or held against a coat you already own, ask and I will send one. More information can be found https://zaikalabel.com/
