Can you gift wrap an item and send it to someone for me?

Yes of course, we will wrap your gift in environmentally friendly tissue with a lovely gold ribbon around it and send it wherever you like. Simply select this option when you go to checkout.

What if I get my order and there is a fault with it, or it isn't as described in the listing?

If this happens, please let me know! We will of course accept returns, if your purchase is faulty, or not as described. Aside from that, we regret that we cannot offer returns for any other reasons. Why? It costs you more! Particularly if you are abroad. By the time you factor in the expensive shipping cost to send something back and the customs charges to import something back into the UK, it's just not viable. It would be so much cheaper, to use your local seamstress/alterations service to get something tweaked/altered to fit perfectly. Our prices would have to be higher too, to cover extra associated shop/transaction fees that we don't get back. So we would urge you to please read the measurements carefully before buying.

A lot of sellers put "measurements laid flat are..." Is this more accurate?

Personally, I don't think it is. Why? because some fabrics (with the exception of say, a cotton velvet) have more stretch than others, or the style itself, can measure up quite differently laid flat, as opposed to on a body. So what I do, is go by eye, experience, fabric and how something looks/hangs/feels, on a hanger/mannequin. I think this gives you a more accurate measure.

I don't fit into a `typical` or `standard` dress size or I'm bigger on the top/bottom than the dress size in the listing

Actually, most people don't. For me, it's all about the style of the dress. For example, if your measurements fit, say, a UK 12 for bust and waist but you needed more room on the hips, look at the style of the dress, if it is a fit and flare, no problem, plenty of room in the hip area. If you went for something very fitted on the bottom half, I would say, go up half a size or a size. That's why the sections in my shop, go up in half sizes.

Why doesn't my garment have a label in it?

Some items still have labels in them but many vintage items don't. As they are pre-loved, sometimes people prefer to cut labels out. Sometimes the labels have faded over time, so appear blank and often, garments that are a lot older, never actually had labels in them originally.

Are vintage sizes the same as sizes today? I'm worried I'll buy something that doesn't fit.

Very often not, they tend to be smaller. That's why all our listings are carefully measured, to quote the size they are now, in today's sizing, regardless of what any label says.
