Timber, Original Drawing, Handmade, Slow Transformation and the Rhombus as a Traditional Symbol of Faith, Fertility, and Family

This artwork was inspired by a stack of logs photographed during a summer in Moldova, transformed into an orderly yet deeply symbolic composition. The rhombus motifs that structure the drawing reference traditional Romanian symbolism, where they represent faith, perseverance, and harmony—the values that sustain family and community.

The true protagonist, however, is the wood itself. Its visible growth rings tell stories of time, seasonal cycles, drought, and abundance. Each cross-section becomes a biological record engraved over the years: more than simple lines, they bear witness to the ongoing dialogue between the tree and the environment in which it grew.

Blending scientific observation with traditional symbolism, **Timber** becomes a quiet tribute to resilience, memory, and the slow passage of time—revealing the traces that only those who pause to look closely can truly appreciate.
