💙 SKILL LEVEL
Beginner–Intermediate. If you can single crochet, count, and change color, you can make this. There's exactly one stitch in the whole body: single crochet, worked in the back loop.
What makes it intermediate isn't the stitches it's that gauge genuinely matters here. The pattern tells you honestly where that bites and how to check it.

I'd rather tell you straight than sell you a fantasy cotton is not a weatherproof fiber. It's the right yarn here for a completely different reason: it takes a wet block and holds the helix indefinitely, which acrylic won't. But in full sun and full rain it will fade and eventually mildew.

Good news: rising warm air is enough to turn it. A sunny window works even with the window shut, because the air column rising off the glass is a slow steady draft. It'll turn all day on sunlight and convection alone.
