A NOTE ON STATE FEE CAPS

Every state sets a maximum per-act notarization fee. The per-act items in the fee book are placeholders. Set them to your own state's cap before you quote, and never charge more than your state allows. Your travel, printing, and convenience fees are separate from the per-act cap and are negotiated with the client. The workbook does not assume a state, so you stay in control of every number.
