This is a 1915 sewing system for dress making and tailoring. It is called The Gorton System for Dress Making and Tailoring, and is touted as "not only the easiest learned and quickest taught, but SELF TEACHING." The instruction book is written by Josephine Singler Gorton. The softcover book is in very good condition, with a tight spine. Also included are the booklet for writing down measurements, which has been partially used, and the pressed paper/cardboard/something similar but sturdy tool. These systems are hard to find, and always look like some kind of wizardry to me, but they generally produce an excellent fitted garment once you figure them out. Included also are two papers of pins and the grease pencil that was in the box, for an extra charm.

Take the time to learn this system and you will have a perfectly tailored garment, in Edwardian style fit.
