This one is handcrafted in the UK — individually cut, assembled and finished by hand — from apple leather with an embossed python effect.

Apple leather, also known as AppleSkin, is a bio-based material made using the leftover pomace and peel from the fruit juice and compote industry

, creating a surface that takes embossing exceptionally well.

, and it's the right material for this piece: consistent, supple, and beautifully textured.

The exterior is laminated to premium Portazzara leather — chosen specifically for its excellent moisture resistance. This is the layer that sits closest to your hair, and the one that matters most for long-term wear. Many leather barrettes use the same leather on both sides. We don't.

Every edge is hand-painted and polished to a deep gloss. It's a slow, precise step that you'll notice — and that a factory couldn't replicate at scale.
