Tried to make it twice, I don't lack skills but it's not corresponding to the image at all, sadly

The pattern does not match the picture. If following the pattern, the body turns out with the lower half as the alternate color and the top half is black; the ears are round instead of pointed, and the wings are not wings at all. I've wasted way too much yarn trying to make this. Very disappointed. You also dont get a picture with the PDF pattern and no pictures showing how things should turn out. I have reviewed the pattern several times and there is no way this makes a bat.
