I'm trying something new. What if the paper isn't a good fit for me?

Finding the right paper matters. If you lightly test a new A Lovely Everyday notebook and discover that the paper isn't the right match for the way you write, contact us within 14 days of delivery. We'll help you determine the best next step, which may include an exchange for another available paper option or another appropriate resolution. The Paper-Fit Promise is intended for a brief paper test—not substantially used notebooks, multiple pages of writing, heavy ink swatching, pooled ink, water-heavy techniques, or damage from use. If something appears defective or performs unexpectedly during normal use, please contact us separately so we can investigate. Please review our Returns & Exchanges policy for more information: https://alovelye

What is the difference between Cosmo Air Light and Tomoe River Paper?

Cosmo Air Light paper is known for making fountain pen ink look expressive, vibrant, and dimensional. It is a lovely choice for ink lovers who enjoy shading, sheen, and seeing the character of their fountain pen ink on the page. Tomoe River paper is beloved for its lightweight feel, smooth writing experience, and fountain-pen-friendly performance. It is a beautiful option for everyday journaling, long-form writing, and compact notebooks with many pages. Both papers are excellent choices for fountain pen users, but the best option depends on how you like your ink to look and how you prefer your pages to feel.

Are your notebooks fountain pen-friendly?

Many of our notebooks are designed with fountain pen users in mind, especially our Cosmo Air Light and Tomoe River paper notebooks. Because fountain pen performance can vary depending on the ink, nib size, writing pressure, and drying time, we recommend reviewing the paper details in each listing. For best results, allow extra drying time when using wet inks, broad nibs, shimmer inks, or heavily saturated fountain pen inks.

Can I use shimmer, sheen, or shading fountain pen ink on your notebooks?

Yes, many fountain pen users choose Cosmo Air Light and Tomoe River paper because these papers can show ink character beautifully. Cosmo Air Light is especially lovely for expressive inks, including inks with shading, sheen, and unique color variation. Tomoe River is also a favorite for fountain pen writing and ink testing. Please allow proper drying time, especially with wet writers, broad nibs, shimmer inks, or highly saturated inks.

Do your notebooks have bleed-through or ghosting?

Paper performance depends on the paper type, pen, ink, nib size, and writing pressure. Cosmo Air Light and Tomoe River papers are generally chosen by fountain pen users because they are designed to handle ink better than ordinary notebook paper. However, some ghosting may occur, especially with dark inks, wet fountain pens, brush pens, markers, or heavy ink application. Watercolor paper notebooks are intended for creative use, watercolor pencils, sketching, and light mixed media. Please review each product listing for recommended use.
