WHAT IT IS

This crop sweater is hand-crocheted from 90% cotton with a 10% polyamide accent thread worked into the ladder stitch for texture. It sits cropped at 38 cm (15.0 in) long and 46 cm (18.1 in) across the body. The sleeves are long and relaxed, running 45 cm (17.7 in) to the cuff. The open ladder stitch leaves the fabric alternately solid and see-through, so the mesh moves and breathes rather than clinging.

WHAT GOES INTO IT

Ten to sixteen hours, and almost none of that is the cotton.
The ladder stitch is worked row by row, counting gaps so the pattern holds straight across 46 cm of width and down to the 38 cm hem. The mesh will not hide a bad count - an uneven gap shows, so it gets pulled back and redone, not pressed flat. The accent thread goes in after, a few rows at a time, so it sits where it is meant to instead of drifting through.
Ninety percent cotton, ten percent polyamide - the thread that gives the mesh its texture.
One sweater, this stitch count, this length - there is no second run to spread those hours across.

HOW IT FEELS

Cotton crochet like this holds its shape - a little crisp fresh out of the wash, easing into something softer with wear.
The ladder stitch reads differently across the piece: dense ridges where the stitches sit close together, open air where they do not.
The fluffy accent thread is soft against the skin and worked in lightly, so the cotton still leads the hand.
Nothing here itches. It sits closer to a structured woven cotton top than to a wool sweater.

I print the whole split because that 10% is not filler. It is the fluffy accent thread that gives the ladder stitch its texture, and rounding it away would hide what you are holding.

CARE

Hand wash cool, or machine on a wool cycle in a mesh bag. Mild detergent, no bleach.
Do not wring. Reshape while damp and dry flat.
Cool iron on the reverse if you want the mesh to sit flat.
Cotton softens with every wash and creases honestly. Both are the point.
