Build a six foot Leopold bench that seats three, plus a matching low table on the same crossed frame. The Leopold frame is two boards crossed and screwed, with the long one carrying on up to become the backrest. There is no half lap, no mortise and no dowel in either piece. Two saw angles and three bevel cuts build the whole set, and the same crossed frame works for any bench or table you build afterwards.
