This policy explains your right to cancel an order under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, if you're a consumer based in the EU or UK.
1. Standard (Non-Bespoke) Items
If you've purchased a ready-made item that was not customised to your specification, you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason.
To exercise this right, you must inform me of your decision to withdraw before the 14-day period expires — by contacting me via Etsy Messages or at nickstrunks@icloud.com , or by using the model withdrawal form below.
2. Bespoke and Made-to-Order Items (Important Exception)
The majority of items in my shop are handmade to order — built to your chosen dimensions, colour way, and specifications. Under Article 16(c) of the EU Consumer Rights Directive and the equivalent UK regulations, goods made to a consumer's specifications or clearly personalised are excluded from the statutory right of withdrawal.
This means the 14-day withdrawal right described above does not legally apply to:
* Custom-sized trunks, tables, or furniture
* Pieces made in a bespoke colour way on request
* Any other item built specifically to your stated requirements
However, as a matter of my own shop policy (not a legal requirement), I still offer a 30-day return policy on all items, including bespoke pieces, as stated in my shop policies — please refer to my Returns & Exchanges policy for the full terms of that separate, voluntary commitment.
3. Effect of Withdrawal (Standard Items Only)
If you validly withdraw from a purchase of a standard, non-bespoke item within the 14-day period:
* I will reimburse the price paid for the item, including standard delivery costs, without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from the day I'm informed of your decision to withdraw.
* Reimbursement will be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction, unless otherwise agreed.
* You must return the goods without undue delay and in any event no later than 14 days from the day you communicate your withdrawal.
* I may withhold reimbursement until I have received the goods back, or you have supplied evidence of having sent them back, whichever is earlier.
* You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods, unless otherwise stated in my shop policy.
