The written plan OSHA asks for, in language a foreman can actually fill out.

OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1153(g) says every covered construction employer has to establish and implement a written silica exposure control plan. Most small outfits either don't have one or downloaded something generic that names no real tasks. OSHA has said in writing that a description too broad to identify the task isn't good enough, so the generic ones are exactly the ones that fail.

This is a fill-in plan built straight off the standard, by a working steel erector.

WHAT'S IN IT:
- Fill-in task sheets: the work, the control, the work practices, the respirator, who does it. That covers 1926.1153(g)(1)(i) and (ii), the two elements with the most teeth in them
- Housekeeping section with the dry sweeping and compressed air rules spelled out, (g)(1)(iii)
- Restricting access section, including the other trades on the job, (g)(1)(iv)
- Competent person designation with a walk-the-job checklist and an authority sign-off, (g)(4)
- Annual review log, (g)(2)
- Where the plan is kept and who can ask for it, (g)(3)
- A full Table 1 reference: all 18 tasks, the control in plain words, and the respirator requirement for under and over 4 hours a shift
- A straight list of what this plan doesn't cover, so nobody thinks it's the whole silica program

WRITTEN STRAIGHT, NOT LAWYERED. Short sentences, field words, no filler. The kind of paper you can hand a foreman without translating it first.

14 pages, US Letter, print at any shop, grayscale-printer friendly. Instant digital download. One purchase covers your company, print all you need.

Need the training half? The silica toolbox talk with the sign-in sheet built in is $4 in this shop, and the full 52-talk year is $19.

Template, not legal advice. It supports your company's safety program and the current OSHA standards, it doesn't replace them. You have to fill it in with your own tasks and your own controls, because a blank or generic plan isn't a plan. Digital product, no refunds on digital files, but if something's wrong with your file, message me and I'll make it right.
