no printer, no paper, no markers to run out of. you get five layered files, you drop them into procreate, and you colour drop straight onto your own layer. undo is right there, and nothing dries while you are thinking.

one person makes these. I pick nothing about your picture except how to build it: you send the photo, I check it will paint well, and I set the kit up by hand.

you pick the photo, your dog, your wedding, the trip you still talk about, the house you grew up in. no drawing skill needed: if you can match a number to a number, you can do this.

WHAT YOU GET (5 files, one zip)

• line-art.png: every outline on a transparent layer, drawn with hard edges so a colour drop fills the shape and stops dead at the line.

• numbers.png: the numbers on their OWN transparent layer. switch it off when a region is done, and your finished piece is a painting rather than a colouring page.

• finished-art.png: your reference, AND the bottom layer. it is doing two jobs on purpose. a colour drop fills up to the reference line and never onto it, so hiding the line art would leave a pale hairline everywhere a line used to be. the picture underneath already holds the right colour in exactly those places, which is why the outlines can go too.

• palette.swatches: a real procreate palette, not a picture of some colours. palettes, then +, then import, and every colour in your kit is in your fingertips.

• read-me.png: a one page setup guide with a picture of the layer stack, written for someone who has never opened procreate. every tap spelled out, including the two at the end that take the numbers and the outlines away.

WHY THIS ONE

• both guides come off. the numbers switch off, and so do the outlines, because the finished art underneath already holds the right colour where every line used to be. what is left is a painting.

• every colour comes with its hex and RGB, and its closest match in ohuhu, copic, prismacolor premier and faber-castell polychromos, so the same kit works if you ever want it on paper.

• every region carries a number, including the slivers too small to hold one, which get a pointer line drawn in from outside.

• the colours run lightest to darkest, which is the order painting actually wants.

• I check your photo will work before I build anything, and swap it free if it will not.

WORKS IN

procreate, fresco, clip studio and krita. the layers are plain transparent PNGs and the palette is a standard .swatches file, so it works wherever you already draw. the read-me walks through procreate step by step.

SIZES, COLOURS AND TURNAROUND

• between 10 and 40 colours depending on your photo and on what you ask me for. the kit in the listing photos is 26 colours and 1,810 pieces.

• it exports at 300 dpi, so if you ever want it on paper the same kit prints at full quality.

• this is a digital kit, nothing ships, nothing to wait for at the door.

one photo rule: please send photos you took yourself, or ones you have the rights to use. professional photographers own their images, so a quick ok from your photographer covers a wedding or portrait shot.

• you send the photo, I check it will survive being cut into flat colours before I build anything.

• I set it up myself. every kit is tuned by hand: how many colours, how fine the detail, how dark the lines sit, which two colours to merge when nothing could tell them apart.

• it runs on software I wrote. not an app I bought and not a website: I built it in python and I keep fixing it, kit after kit.

• then I read it. every layer of your kit opened and checked, all 5 files.

so yes: the tracing and the numbering are computer-assisted, by a program I wrote and keep fixing. then I check and finish every kit by hand before it reaches you. I teach high school maths. after school I make these, one picture at a time.
