White Butterfly Syngonium, Variegated Arrowhead Live Plant

WHITE BUTTERFLY SYNGONIUM
Syngonium podophyllum ‘White Butterfly’

LUMINOUS ARROWHEAD FOLIAGE IN CREAM, MINT AND GREEN

White Butterfly is one of the most graceful expressions of Syngonium podophyllum, prized for pale arrow-shaped leaves that seem to hold their own light. Creamy white to soft mint centers blend outward into green veins and deeper green margins, giving the foliage a layered, almost translucent quality beside darker tropical plants.

Young leaves carry the familiar arrowhead silhouette with particularly delicate coloration. As the plant develops, both its growth habit and foliage can evolve, transforming a compact young specimen into a longer-stemmed climbing or trailing aroid with an increasingly mature character.

FROM COMPACT ARROWHEAD TO CLIMBING AROID

A young White Butterfly naturally presents as a leafy, relatively compact plant. With maturity, stems lengthen and the plant begins to reveal its vining nature. It can be pruned to preserve a fuller silhouette, allowed to trail from an elevated position, or guided upward on a trellis, plank or moss pole.

Supported growth gives the leaves space to arrange themselves vertically and can reveal the plant’s changing form especially well. Mature Syngonium foliage may become more divided than the simple juvenile arrowhead shape, adding another stage to the plant’s development.

THE WHITE BUTTERFLY PALETTE

The pale center of each leaf develops individually. Some foliage may appear softly cream, while other leaves lean toward pale green with more visible darker venation and margins. Fresh leaves can also change in tone as they unfurl and harden.

That subtle variation gives an established plant depth without sacrificing the cultivar’s characteristic luminous appearance. Against burgundy, deep green or silver foliage, White Butterfly provides a particularly elegant contrast.

SELECT YOUR PLANT

Choose your preferred available selection from the dropdown. Pot measurements refer to the nursery container rather than overall stem length or plant height. An option specifically labeled with Trellis includes that support; the remaining selections represent the same cultivar at different stages of development.

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE

One live, rooted White Butterfly Syngonium in the selected option, grown in its nursery pot with growing medium. Your plant will have its own arrangement of leaves, stem development and cream-to-green coloration.

CARE FOR BEAUTIFUL GROWTH

Light
Provide bright, indirect or filtered light. Good light supports attractive pale foliage and balanced growth. Protect the leaves from prolonged harsh direct sun.

Water
Water thoroughly when the upper portion of the growing medium begins to dry, then allow excess water to drain freely. Maintain consistent care without leaving the roots continuously saturated.

Growing medium
Use an airy, moisture-retentive but well-draining indoor or aroid mix. Bark, perlite or similar components can help maintain structure and airflow around the roots.

Humidity and warmth
Moderate humidity and warm indoor conditions suit White Butterfly well. Protect from frost, cold drafts and direct heating or cooling vents.

Growth and propagation
Guide longer stems onto support or prune selectively to encourage a fuller shape. Healthy stem sections containing a viable node can be propagated as the plant develops.

ARRIVAL & ACCLIMATION

Unpack promptly, check the growing medium and place the plant in suitable indirect light. Allow it time to settle before repotting or making major care changes.

Syngonium is not safe to ingest. Keep out of reach of pets and small children.
