Purple Foliage Alternanthera, Magenta Daydream Live Houseplant

MAGENTA DAYDREAM ALTERNANTHERA

DARK FOLIAGE. ELECTRIC COLOR. A LIVING DAYDREAM.

For collectors drawn to foliage that refuses to settle on a single color, Magenta Daydream is extraordinary. Burgundy and deep purple move through vivid magenta, pink, olive and fresh green, with different stages of growth carrying noticeably different tones across the same plant.

The result is dramatic and constantly changing. Older leaves can deepen into wine and purple while emerging growth introduces brighter magenta, pink and green, creating a canopy with several layers of color at once.

A PLANT FOR COLOR COLLECTORS

Magenta Daydream belongs in collections built around contrast. Its darker foliage creates depth beside silver and chartreuse plants, while the brighter growth adds flashes of color normally associated with flowers.

The plant is especially compelling at close range, where individual leaves reveal transitions between burgundy, purple, magenta, olive and green. From farther away, those colors combine into a richly saturated silhouette.

A SPECIMEN YOU CAN SHAPE

The branching habit responds beautifully to pruning. Pinching selected growing tips encourages additional stems, allowing a younger plant to become progressively fuller and denser.

That makes Magenta Daydream unusually interactive to grow. The specimen does not simply increase in size; its silhouette can be deliberately developed as new branches emerge and fresh foliage adds another layer to the palette.

During warm weather, the plant can also be gradually acclimated to a sheltered outdoor container. Protect it before cold conditions return.

THE COLOR CONTINUES TO EVOLVE

The specimen you receive is not a finished composition. New leaves will emerge, existing foliage will mature, stems will branch and the balance of color will continue to shift with growth and light.

Some growth may emphasize burgundy and purple; other leaves can lean toward brighter pink, magenta, olive or green. That evolution is one of the defining pleasures of Magenta Daydream.

SELECT YOUR PRESENTATION

Choose your preferred available option from the dropdown. The limited PINK and PURPLE labels identify the colored nursery-pot presentations rather than the exclusive color of the foliage. The PINK option pairs a starter with a pink nursery pot, while the PURPLE option pairs a more developed plant with a purple nursery pot. Other available selections represent the same plant at their listed stages of development.

WHAT YOU WILL RECEIVE

One live, well-rooted Magenta Daydream Alternanthera in the selected size and presentation. Your plant will have its own branching, leaf arrangement and evolving balance of burgundy, purple, magenta, pink, olive and green.

CARE FOR BEAUTIFUL GROWTH

Light
Provide bright, indirect light indoors. Light influences the developing foliage palette, so introduce stronger exposure gradually rather than moving an indoor-grown plant abruptly into intense sun.

Water
Maintain consistent moisture with good drainage. Water when the upper portion of the growing medium begins to dry, then allow excess water to escape freely.

Growing medium
Use a well-draining indoor mix in a container with drainage. Avoid prolonged saturation around the root system.

Warmth
Protect from frost and prolonged cold. Warm conditions support active growth and allow the branching canopy to continue developing.

Shaping
Pinch or trim growing tips to encourage branching and build the density you prefer. Feed during active growth according to the fertilizer label.

ARRIVAL & ACCLIMATION

Unpack promptly, check the growing medium and place the plant in suitable light and warmth. Allow it time to settle before repotting or substantial pruning.
