Back to School Anxiety Worksheets for Kids 9-12, Child Therapy Psychoeducation (PDF)

September anxiety is usually described to parents as a phase to be managed and to children as a feeling to be reduced. Both descriptions leave out the part that matters clinically, which is that the anxiety is doing something, and it is worth finding out what before trying to remove it.

The pack comes in two halves. The first is for the child and is written to be read together, while the second is for the parent and does one specific job, interrupting the reassurance reflex, which is the most common way a well-meaning adult keeps a child's anxiety alive.

WHO WROTE IT
I'm Alberto Del Bove, a psychologist and psychoanalytically oriented psychotherapist trained in Rome, in private practice with adults.
