Valleombra sits high above a blanket of clouds, its stone houses and narrow stairways climbing a mountainside that seems to disappear into the mist.

The foreground begins with an old stairway bordered by ivy, weathered walls and lanterns. It passes beneath a stone arch before continuing upward toward the city, giving the scene the feeling of entering Valleombra on foot rather than observing it from a distance.

Beyond the arch, layers of pale buildings follow the slope toward a tall bell tower near the summit. Rooflines overlap gradually as the city fades into cloud, leaving some streets and lower neighborhoods only partly visible.

Fog is central to the composition. It gathers between the hills and buildings, softening the distant architecture while the stone steps, vines and lamps remain sharply defined in the foreground.

Gray stone, muted cream, dusty green and small touches of warm lantern light keep the palette restrained. The effect is quieter than the brighter coastal cities in the collection and works especially well with neutral rooms, dark frames and natural wood.

The title reads “VALLEOMBRA – City Above the Silent Clouds,” referring to the mist that separates the city from the valley below.

Valleombra is entirely fictional and belongs to the Cities That Never Were Collection. Its architecture borrows from old European hill towns, but the city itself exists only within this imagined world.

The vertical stairway and layered mountainside give the artwork a strong sense of depth, making it suitable for living rooms, bedrooms, offices, entryways and game rooms where atmospheric fantasy art can carry a wall without relying on bright color.
