Make a canopy that's completely your own!
The Lucky Canopy is a fully customizable PDF sewing pattern for a hanging canopy. For a nursery, a reading nook, a play corner, or above a bed. You choose the shape, the volume and the length, so no two canopies come out the same.


What you choose:

✦ Your top — narrow (5 triangles) or broad (6 triangles)
✦ Your ruffle — light, medium or full, in any height you like
✦ Your fullness — beautiful drape, or extra full and lush around a crib
✦ Your length — from a short canopy to ceiling-to-floor
✦ Your middle strip — on show as a clean band, or hidden behind the ruffles

The booklet walks you through every choice and does the maths with you before you cut a single piece of fabric.


What's included?

✦ The pattern — print-at-home in A4 and US Letter.
✦ The booklet — every decision, calculation and measurement, with a checklist before you start.
✦ The Sewing Guide — every construction step in writing, with a photo for each one. I sewed a miniature canopy specially for it, so you can see the whole shape in every picture.
✦ The video tutorial — the full make from start to finish on YouTube, with chapters so you can jump to the step you're on.


Free addition

Instead of a ruffle you can finish your canopy with half circles, this is the version I call the circus canopy. You can see this version in the video added to this listing. The pattern piece for it is a free download on my website, so you can add it to your canopy whenever you feel like something different.


Beginner friendly?

Yes, if you can sew a straight line. The construction is straightforward and mostly straight seams. It does ask for patience and precision, especially when gathering the ruffles, but there's nothing here you need experience for.


What you'll need:

✦ A ring: 40 cm for the narrow top, 50 cm for the broad one. Metal, steel or wooden all work.
✦ 2 m of fabric for the top, ruffles, middle strip and ties
✦ Fabric for the bottom panel, you'll calculate this in the booklet

Light, airy fabrics are perfect: simple gauze, double gauze, cotton voile, poplin or a light linen.


Good to know!

This is a digital sewing pattern, not a finished canopy. Nothing will be shipped to you. Because of that, refunds aren't possible, but if anything goes wrong with your download, message me and I'll sort it out.
