This first edition was issued by B. J. Brimmer in November 1923, and the anthology includes Robert Frost’s “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” as well as poems by Wallace Stevens, Vachel Lindsay, Stephen Vincent Benét, Elinor Wylie, Louis Untermeyer, and others.

Condition: Very Good (clean and sound, honest wear).
Noted flaws, plainly:
• Toned, chipped and partially split paper spine label
• Bumped/frayed spine ends (head and tail)
• Rubbed and worn corners
• Tanning and offset/glue shadow to front endpaper around inscription
• Small worm-hole or gouge and chip at top of front endpaper
• Rough, uneven fore-edge and untrimmed page-block edges (add'l photos 6-7)
• Faint stain/soil spot to rear board
• General soiling to cloth boards
• Ownership inscription 'Margaret Perkins Brigg / Dec. 1923' consistent with 1923 issue
