This vintage ViCTORIAN StERLiNG SASH BUCKLE is an amazing! It's a whopping 3-1/4" long and has Delicate lacy filigree edges and faceted circles of silver that twinkle and shine. There are 3 sharp prongs that swivel back and forth on a hinge. There is also a second piece of metal on the back with 4 prongs that also swivels...perhaps to hold the material secure. It's in great condition and would look glorious on a wedding belt. Original Patina or very tarnished.

✦ MARKS AND MATERIALS: No hallmarks. Depending on how you hold the buckle there are initials of TS or SA, hand scratched. Sterling and silver tone metal.

✦ CONDITION: This ViCTORIAN StERLiNG BELT BUCKLE is in GOOD ANTIQUE condition. There are NO breaks or damage to the metal. It retains the original shape. The prongs are very sharp and the hinge swivels freely but with light tension. It's very sturdy and ready to be used. It has the original patina (tarnish) but can certainly be shined.
I believe the original as found condition of antiques helps establish age and history, so this treasure has been GENTLY cleaned and left with the original patina.

✦ CARE: Please take care when cleaning VINTAGE and ANTIQUE TREASURES. No harsh chemicals and ABSOLUTELY NO IMMERSION in water! (Believe me I've made that mistake n it ain't pretty) Start with a soft paintbrush and MAYBE a dampened cloth if you simply must. Respect the age spots and imperfections!
