THE LEAPING TIGER Folk Botanical Mahjong Mat, Terracotta Blue Floral Table Mat, American Mahjong Gift, Mahjong Accessories

Item highlights

  • Materials: Neoprene

Seller's description

The tiger leaps mid-stride, caught between one flowerbed and the next. The butterflies scatter but don't go far. The whole scene holds its breath on terracotta red.

The Leaping Tiger is painted in the tradition of folk botanical portraiture — the kind of image found on a hand-painted silk panel, where a striped white tiger bounds across a coral-red field scattered with blue peonies, cream blossoms, and gilded butterflies. A scalloped olive-and-cream border with corner florals holds the whole composition in place. No center that stays still. No restraint in the leap. Just movement and bloom, edge to edge.

This is a tiger caught mid-leap through the garden. On your game table.

I’m super happy with this mat’s quality and design. Overall, it looks like a custom watercolor painting. I like the lack of words and how it doesn’t have one direction, so everyone at the table can enjoy the art. I chose this design since it not only matches the colors of my Mahjong Atelier Terra tiles, but the tiger and flowers on the mat match the art on the tiles. Compared to the product photos, the color is a bit less washed out (in a good way). The main colors are a deep burnt orange, slate blue, and deep green.

Beautiful neoprene mahjong mat that works beautifully with Sweet JoJo paradise tiles. I was searching for a mat with a tiger since the dragons are tigers. Love the warm autumn vibe!
